The European Group for Organizational Studies has invited Grant T. Savage, Ph.D., professor in the UAB Collat School of Business, to chair and be keynote speaker for a session at their 2012 conference in Helsinki on July 7, 2012. The session, titled “Project Networks and Stakeholder Management,” will explore how corporations and public entities deal with large, complex projects.
“CEOs and government officials must recognize through discussions with top leaders is only a starting point; it doesn’t capture today’s reality,” says Savage. “Large projects today have multiple stakeholders and powerful entities. You can’t forget the moral outrage of those that are affected by a decision, because voices that are not heard oftentimes will trump the financial power of corporations.”
EGOS members, from business, sociology, engineering, political science and other disciplines, hail from 46 countries. The organization focus is to understand the workings of modern organizations.
