Measuring Success: Patient Care pillar
Metric: Heersink School of Medicine: Ambulatory Patient Experience - Likelihood to Recommend
UAB Medicine Clinic patients are asked to take a survey to provide us with feedback. Those who are most satisfied with their care will be more likely to recommend UAB Medicine to others needing ambulatory care. Patient satisfaction is vital to us, as it is one of the most important parts of how we measure the quality of care and patients’ perceptions of their overall experience. From patients’ responses, we learn about things they appreciated, as well as their concerns and needs. We use this information for planning, evaluation, and identification of potential opportunities for improvement.
Data definition: Represents the percentage of ambulatory patients saying "yes, definitely" when asked if they would recommend UAB Medicine Clinics to friends and family. Annual measurement period is October 2018–September 2019. Source: Clinician & Group Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CG-HCAHPS) as reported by Press Ganey (survey vendor).
