Measuring Success: Stewardship foundation
Metric: Capital Investment to Operations
A strategic plan is all about growth, both in size and quality. You cannot grow without making investments in the things that help you grow, such as new buildings, new equipment and all the other infrastructure that supports a technologically sophisticated enterprise. This metric shows the percentage of its total operating expenditures that UAB invests to achieve strategic growth.
Data definition: Measures the extent to which a university invests annually in Physical Plant (Buildings, Equipment and Infrastructure) in comparison to the net cash generated in a year of operations. Baseline is FY17 ratio for UAB consolidated. Source: UAB Financial Affairs.
