UAB Football returns Sept. 2, and faculty and staff can participate in their own friendly competition — the Dean’s Challenge — for prizes and bragging rights.
Here’s how it works:
- Employees from any academic or administrative unit, can purchase a season ticket package in Blaze’s Corner, sections 14 and 15, for $99 or in general seating for $135.
- Apply the season ticket purchase to the department total by entering the promo code “DEANSCHALLENGE” when ordering, then enter an abbreviation for the unit.
- The unit with the highest total number of season ticket orders will win a $10,000 credit from UAB Athletics for a pre-game tailgate party for the 2017 Blazer Homecoming Celebration.
UAB employees who normally are eligible for payroll-deduction may request this using an online or paper form and note their department for inclusion in the Deans’ Challenge.
Family members, friends, alumni and neighbors of employees also can credit their season ticket purchases to a specific department; the general public can purchase packages from $99-$150, and National Alumni Society members can order for $135.
Previously ordered ticket packages sales cannot be credited retroactively to a campus unit in the Dean’s Challenge. The competition ends Sept. 1.
UAB will host Alabama A&M University in its season opener Sept. 2 in Legion Field. Kickoff is 2:30 p.m.
