The budget planning for FY2014-15 is underway. Because there was very limited incremental funding provided to UAB in the state appropriation process this year, UAB will not be able to fund a campuswide merit increase pool for employee raises.
As was reported in The eReporter earlier, two extra holidays have been added this year, and there will be no increases in health-insurance premiums in 2015.
“We are pleased that at least we were able to ensure that employee health-insurance premiums did not increase during a time when salaries remain flat, and that the president approved two additional holidays, Dec. 26, 2014, and Jan. 2, 2015, to show appreciation for the great work that is done at UAB,” said Alesia Jones, chief human resources officer.
