best collegesUAB is one of nine public universities included in the “U.S. News and World Report” national ranking of Up-and-Coming Schools. That means it was among the most cited by college presidents, provosts and admissions deans who were asked to identify up to 10 up-and-coming institutions they think have recently made the most promising and innovative changes in the areas of academics, faculty, student life, campus or facilities.

All three University of Alabama System schools were ranked in the magazine’s annual “Best Colleges” listing of universities that offer a full range of undergraduate majors, plus master's and doctoral programs and are committed to producing groundbreaking research. UAB was nationally ranked No. 149. University of Alabama and University of Alabama in Huntsville were ranked nos. 88 and 181, respectively.
