Eager to promote active and ethical citizenship, cultural immersion and community engagement while integrating the philosophy, pedagogy and process of faculty-led education abroad into UAB’s academic environment?
Interested faculty can apply by June 30 for the Office of Global Engagement’s new Faculty Fellows in Education Abroad program, a venue for faculty to design a new course or modify and existing course to include a faculty-led education abroad component. Selected fellows will receive a $1,500 enhancement grant to each fellow to support program development, and funds can be used to offset travel costs, lodging or other fees.
The program is structured around a year-long series of six workshops designed to help faculty develop education-abroad skills and provide an intellectual venue for the exchange of ideas within an academically diverse group. Workshop attendance is required; the meetings are scheduled 1-3 p.m. on the following Fridays:
- Sept. 20
- Oct. 18
