Office of Sponsored International Programs
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is committed to being an internationally renowned research university committed to enhancing the lives of people around the world through the discovery, dissemination, and application of knowledge. The Office of Sponsored International Programs (OSIP) was established in the Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development to facilitate international service, education, and research programs by building on experiences and by adapting University policy for international activities. The services provided by OSIP enhance the ability of the institution both to strengthen and expand existing programs and to encourage and promote other international endeavors.
The responsibilities of OSIP include the following:

To serve as an institutional resource for information regarding UAB's international research, training, and service programs;

To work with UAB faculty and existing and potential international partners to promote, develop and facilitate sponsored international research, training, and service programs;

To facilitate the establishment of memoranda of understanding (MOUs) and linkage agreements with international partners, and

To facilitate communications and interactions between UAB's international programs and entities responsible for compliance and oversight.
