Students in the Biomedical Sciences (BMD) program complete specific courses according to a planned and structured program of study. Students fulfill both core degree requirements and major/professional curriculum requirements in a logical sequence. The sequence is intended to facilitate success in the overall degree requirements.
In addition to Biomedical Sciences specific and related courses, the curriculum includes a capstone project and a required practicum, providing hands-on application of the skills and experiences gained through the program.
Students are encouraged to also take advantage of research opportunities while in the program, and in particular, to participate in interdisciplinary research, which can connect students with other researchers across campus and provide a broader research experience.
The Biomedical Sciences major curriculum includes courses in the following areas:
- Anatomy and Histology
- Genetics
- Immunology
- Microbiology
- Nutrition
- Physiology and Pharmacology
