Crane Jane LarryJane and Larry CraneA study from Thomson Reuters shows that a 50-year-old entrepreneur is almost twice as likely to start an extremely successful company as a 30-year-old, and in general, the most successful entrepreneurs tend to be middle-aged.

For Larry and Jane Crane, this statistic is only confirmation that they are making the right choice by opening their first business at 60 years of age.

Larry and Jane both obtained higher degrees from the UAB School of Health Professions – Larry, his Masters in both Health Administration and Business Administration in 2000, and Jane, her Masters in Physical Therapy in 1993. She is fellowship-trained in manual therapy with over 30 years of experience as a physical therapist.

The college sweethearts, who have been married nearly four decades, are embarking on a new journey in launching Spine Mountain Physical Therapy and Wellness Studio.

The couple moved to Pine Mountain, Georgia in 2021 and quickly discovered that their neighbors were having to travel at least 45 minutes for physical therapy services. This inspired them to combine their skills in physical therapy and health administration to create Spine Mountain, a hybrid physical therapy clinic and wellness studio.

As the sole physical therapy clinic in Harris County, Spine Mountain offers services not previously available in the community.

“We are risking it all to create a model of wellness-focused care that helps people move better, feel better and live better - especially the aging baby boomers who have sacrificed their health for careers and raising families, but now want to enjoy an active retirement,” said Larry.

The Cranes are enjoying their very own active “retirement” with this new business. The clinic will provide outpatient physical therapy services and medically safe small group fitness training to treat aches and pains as well as prevent injury recurrence.

If you are in the Pine Mountain, Georgia area, check out Spine Mountain Physical Therapy and Wellness Studio at 713 Gardenview Drive.
