As UAB PT celebrates its 60th anniversary, we want to spotlight a few of our many successful alumni and hear how the department has impacted their journeys.
With that said, we are pleased to introduce you to Jessica Rosner, DPT, alumna of our DPT Class of 2006. Currently, Jessica is Clinical Director at Outpatient Sports Medicine Clinic in Shelby County Physical Therapy.
What is your favorite memory from your time at UAB PT?
Well I have so many but two stick out. I loved my class. We spent day in and day out together. From the late night / all night study sessions, we became lifelong friends. My other favorite memory is my clinical rotation in Stockholm, Sweden. I spent 3 months in one of the most beautiful countries in the world completing my neuro rotation.
What are you up to now and how has UAB PT potentially influenced that?
I have worked in outpatient sports medicine clinics and have been at the current clinic for 13 years. I am the clinic director for Shelby County Physical therapy. I am married to Marc Rosner, a DPT from University of Delaware, and we have two kids; Ben 13, Abby 11. We live in Hoover, Alabama, where our kids are active in travel softball and baseball.
What is something you learned from UAB PT that you have taken into your career?
From Day 1, UAB instilled the importance of professionalism, patient first focus and a continued desire to learn and grow as a clinician.
If you could give one piece of advice to current PT students, what would you say?
Don't take for granted your time there. As stressful as it is, try and enjoy it. Study hard and stay focused but take time to make great memories. This is your foundation being built.
