UAB School of Health Professions’ M.S. in Health Informatics program (MSHI, 1998), has been named to Health Data Management’s (HDM) Most Powerful Women in Healthcare IT for the second straight year.
Theresa Meadows, alumna of theMeadows, who has been in healthcare IT for more than 25 years, is Senior Vice President CIO at Cook Children’s Health Care System in Fort Worth, Texas. Prior to that, she served as a regional director at Ascension Health and director of clinical systems at St. Vincent’s Health System.
At the national level, Meadows served as co-chair on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Healthcare Cybersecurity Task Force.
The HDM article points to her development and implantation of “a technology strategy to support an integrated delivery network that includes acute care, ambulatory care, home health and the organization’s own health plan” as one of her most significant achievements.
