PTS LogoThe UAB Department of Physical Therapy is excited to announce a multitiered partnership with PT Solutions Physical Therapy. This unique gift establishes the PT Solutions Scholarship, provides support to several key events, and creates professional development opportunities for students in the UAB Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program.

The PT Solutions Scholarship will be awarded annually to DPT students who excel both inside and outside the classroom. The inaugural recipients are Natalie Fogle, Edwin Logan and Morgan Misenar. Each has not only shown exceptional academic performance, but they also demonstrate outstanding leadership skills.

In addition to financial support, PT Solutions Physical Therapy is investing in the professional development of these DPT students. Each year, their scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to engage with and learn from physical therapy leaders at PT Solutions. The PT Solutions Scholarship is a testament to the company's dedication to fostering the next generation of physical therapists and supporting the ongoing mission of UAB to provide top-tier education and training.

“At PT Solutions, we believe in the power of education and mentorship to shape the future of physical therapy,” said PT Solutions Physical Therapy CEO Dale Yake, PT, DPT, OCS, ATC. “Our partnership with UAB’s Department of Physical Therapy underscores our commitment to developing tomorrow’s physical therapy leaders. By providing scholarships and professional development opportunities, we aim to empower students to excel academically and develop into compassionate, skilled clinicians who will make a meaningful impact in their communities.”

They will be connected with second-year students at their annual retreat and third-year students at the annual White Coat Ceremony, which marks their transition from pre-clinical to clinical and the acceptance of the PT professions’ responsibilities.

In terms of the community, funding from the sponsorship will be used to support the annual WE CAN DO IT! program. In 2014, UAB PT was the first to bring this program to Alabama. WE CAN DO IT! promotes health and wellness for individuals with physical disabilities. It is a student-driven program that connects DPT students directly with schools and providers to work with young clients from across the area.
