The University of Alabama at Birmingham houses over 20 NIH Institutional Training Programs that support predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees across a variety of interdisciplinary research programs in public health and related areas. To be eligible for institutional training support predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees in most cases must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. Other eligibility criteria may apply based on the individual training program. Faculty members who are interested in nominating a trainee for an institutional training program should contact the project P.I.

Faculty Support
The Training Grant Support Office (TGSO) supports faculty by centrally providing data and resources available institutionally for the preparation of institutional training proposals. These include, but are not limited to:
- Data Table Preparation Assistance
- Institutional ad hoc reporting and data
- Text and Data for Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) and enhancing reproducibility
- Institutional Letters of Support (LOS)
- CCTS Grants Library of successful proposals
