To promote the success of all students, faculty and staff, the Office of Access & Engagement supports the campus community in making opportunities accessible, promoting our shared values and complying with state and federal laws, as well as other requirements. We collaborate with students, faculty and staff to promote a campus environment that values respect, collaboration, and well-being by offering campus-wide community education programs, developing and monitoring policies and employment practices, and investigating internal and external complaints of discrimination and harassment. We also serve as the university’s liaison to the federal government on matters of federal contract compliance.

The AWARE program at UAB partners with the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services (ADRS) to provide disability-management services to employees when their job is affected by a physical, mental, or emotional impairment.
