Each year UAB employees demonstrate a remarkable spirit of commitment to our Blazer community and the greater Birmingham area by giving to the Benevolent Fund. Their generosity — through gifts ranging from $1 to $15,000 — provides food for Blazer Kitchen, grants financial assistance to employees in crisis, assists with Habitat for Humanity home builds and supports numerous non-profits in the Birmingham area.
As a UAB employee, you are one of the university's greatest advocates, actively promoting our values, supporting our mission and making UAB a force for good in the world. When you extend your contributions to include philanthropy, you express your belief in UAB's community engagement mission pillar and support our long-standing culture of excellence.

Please consider becoming a Blazer Giver by making a recurring donation to the Benevolent Fund equal to one hour (hourly paid employees) or 1 percent (salaried employees) of your monthly income.

Where do I mail my check?
Checks should be made out to “UAB Benevolent Fund.” Please mail to UAB Gift Records, AB 1230, 1720 2nd Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35294-0112.
How do I designate my pledge?
Your pledge can be designated to up to two local nonprofits supported by the Benevolent Fund. Support Benevolent Fund programs such as Blazer Kitchen, Employee Emergency Assistance Program, or the UAB Habitat House Build by leaving your designation blank or by designating all or a portion of your funds to "Benevolent Fund" in the gift designation portion of the pledge form.
How can I access my tax receipts?
UAB Gift Records issues all UAB gift statements including donations to the UAB Benevolent Fund. Donors can access an online statement of their annual summary of giving to UAB here. This enables quick access and printing of your giving summary for tax purposes, at your convenience, and eliminates the expense of printing and mailing. Other donors who give $25,000 or more will have receipts mailed to their home address on or before January 31 of each year. Otherwise, receipts will be mailed as gifts are processed.
