UAB Heersink School of Medicine, USA College of Medicine, UAB School of Dentistry, UAB School of Optometry, and several other professional programs will conduct assessment/counseling interviews for sophomores. This is an excellent opportunity to meet with members of the admissions committees and get feedback on the progress of your preparation for professional school.

All students who have reached sophomore standing and plan to apply to professional schools are encouraged to participate. Sign-up sheets will be available in the Office for Pre-Health Advising. All interviews are by appointment only.

Guidelines

• Please schedule an appointment. Sign-up sheets will be available in the Office for Pre-Health Advising.
• Please fill the morning slots first if at all possible.
• A phone number and e-mail address is very important. Some appointments may need to be adjusted. The interviewers do not wish to have large spaces in the schedule.
• If you are unable to keep the appointment, please give at least three working days notice. Email dlewis1@uab.edu.
• Dress professionally as if you were attending an actual professional school or job interview.
• Come prepared to adequately describe your academic and personal progress.
• Complete the Sophomore Assessment Interview Candidate Information Sheet. Print a copy for yourself and copies for each of your interview appointments; also submit one to the Office for Pre-Health Advising.
