Submission Guidelines

Unsolicited manuscripts of no more than five poems are welcomed but must be accompanied by a stamped, self-addressed envelope for consideration. Birmingham Poetry Review does not accept submissions during the summer (May 15 through September 1). We cannot honor International Reply Coupons. At the present time, we do not accept electronic submissions. All rights revert upon publication.

Pay is one copy of the Birmingham Poetry Review. Authors should submit three to five poems, without cover letters. Be absolutely certain that you enclose sufficient postage on your SASE if you would like us to return your work. We accept simultaneous submissions. However, please contact us immediately if a poem you have submitted to us is accepted elsewhere.

We usually report on submissions within one to three months, and we occasionally comment on rejections.
