The UAB Graduate School offers a unique opportunity for accomplished high school seniors to receive automatic acceptance to a master’s program along with their admission to UAB as an undergraduate.

The Department of History participates in this innovative pathway to graduate school. We know that many of our students are interested in graduate studies, and the Early Acceptance program is a way to recognize the accomplishments of our incoming freshmen and encourage our students to meet the program requirements as they matriculate. It’s both a reward for hard work and an incentive to continue to perform at a high level.

Program Details

• Guaranteed admission to any participating master’s program, provided you meet the prerequisites.
• While completing their undergraduate degree, any graduate course(s) that the early accepted student enrolls in will be billed to the student at the discounted undergraduate course rate.
• Use any unspent scholarship dollars for graduate courses even after your undergraduate degree is awarded.
• No Graduate School application fee.
• No entrance exams required.

Program Requirements

• 3.5 UAB Undergraduate GPA.
• One History course at the 200-level or higher.
