More than 20 research expeditions to Antarctica over the past 30 years have given marine biologists Jim McClintock, Ph.D. (Professor Emeritus), Charles Amsler, Ph.D., and Maggie Amsler, all based in the Department of Biology, front row seats to the dramatic ecological effects of climate change on glaciers and marine life of the Antarctic Peninsula.
The group is using their research and observations of the Antarctic Peninsula to educate students and the public about the effects of climate change.
McClintock is one of 25 scientists nationwide who developed a definitive report sponsored by the National Academy of Sciences on the effects of polar climate change.
