Kendall Baker - 2024
Kendall, a former dancer for the Alabama Ballet company, applied to graduate school in philosophy and is now in the PhD program at UNC Chapel Hill, a top ranked program internationally.
Zahrah Abdulrauf - 2021
While completing her philosophy major at UAB, Zarah was named a Forbes Under 30 Scholar and UAB's first Schwarzman Scholar. She then went on to earn a Masters degree in Global Affairs and is currently a Financial Economist at the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
Parker Rose - 2021
Parker is one of our recent graduates who has chosen to go on to graduate school in philosophy and has since matriculated at UCLA which is frequently rated as one of the top programs in philosophy nationally.
Siddhu Srikakolapu, M.D. - 2019
In addition to being SGA President and recipient of the Dean’s Award in 2019, Siddhu was admitted to UAB's Heersink School of Medicine and is now a resident physician in dermatology at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Anand Bosmia M.D. - 2009
Anand is one of our most memorable philosophy majors, graduating from our program in 2009 and from UAB Heersink School of Medicine in 2015.
Michael Mellett - 1988
Michael (Mike) Mellet graduated from UAB with his B.A. in Philosophy in 1988 and went on to earn his M.A. in Philosophy at the University of South Carolina where he wrote his thesis on the four cardinal virtues (prudence, justice, temperance and fortitude.)

Kaitlin Burge MD/MBA - 2020
Kaitlin was a philosophy major and an Early Medical School Acceptance Program (EMSAP) student as an undergraduate. In 2024, she graduated from the UAB Heersink School of Medicine with her MD and from the UAB Collat School of Business with her MBA. Currently, Kaitlin is a surgical resident at UAB Medical Center.

Ankit Bansal MD - 2019
Ankit was a philosophy major, an EMSAP student, and in the University Honors Program at UAB. Also, he was on the Ethics Bowl team. After completing his undergraduate degree, he attended the UAB Heersink School of Medicine. Currently, Ankit is a resident of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UAB Medical Center.

Clara Wan MD - 2018
Clara was a philosophy major and an EMSAP student. During her time at UAB, she was a member of both the Ethics Bowl and Bioethics Bowl teams. Clara graduated from the UAB Heersink School of Medicine and is currently a resident in Neurology at UAB Medical Center.
