My physics journey was ignited by my passion for astronomy. I have always enjoyed observing celestial objects and eventually started asking the question: "WHY?" This questioning ultimately lead me to physics.
Today, my research focus is on laser generated plasmas. Our multidimensional laser ablation simulation uses an adaptive mesh refinement that allows us to simulate plume dynamics outwards to several centimeters. Additionally, we constrain our results to experimental data (Langmuir probe / ICCD image data) that is obtained through Pulsed Laser Deposition to ensure an accurate depiction of the plume dynamics. It is these plume dynamics that will ultimately play a role in the synthesis of novel thin-film materials.
