The UAB Biological Data Science Core (U-BDS) is a research resource that provides services to the community to identify, characterize, and quantify molecular variation and its impact. We are faculty and scientists from across the research community spanning a number of Departments, Institutes, and Centers. The over-arching goal of the U-BDS is to provide exceptional computational analysis and method development support.
Specific Aims
- Provide high-quality and cost-effective computational services to the UAB research community with emphasis in the areas of genomics, transcriptomics, systems biology and translational medicine. Our services include:
- Genomics data analysis and interpretation (e.g. Exome / Whole Genome Sequencing)
- Transcriptomics data analysis and interpretation (e.g. RNA-Seq, miRNA-Seq, single-cell/single-nuclei RNA-Seq)
- Foster long-term collaborations across the UAB research community
- Provide training for biomedical investigators through resources provided on our website, journal club presentations, our dedicated UAB Labs Data Science Slack channel, Data Science Drop-ins, seminars, and also through individual and team meetings.
