UAB undergraduates interested in an overview of the health education or human services profession may opt to complete a minor in either Community Health (CH) or Human Services (HS). CHHS majors concentrating in CH often minor in HS, while CHHS majors concentrating in HS often minor in CH. Students majoring in the social sciences, health sciences, and business will likely find either of these minors useful.
Minor in Human Services (100% Online)
The minor in human services provides students with an overview of some of the important helping professions. Courses such as Fundraising in Human Services, Community Resource Identification and Mobilization, and Leadership in Non-Profit Administration make this minor particularly useful to students majoring in the social sciences, health sciences, and business.
With this 19-hour minor, students study the ways in which human services workers reach out to and assist people in need. They take courses in case management, fundraising, the mobilization of communities to action, and leadership in non-profit administration.
