New Features or Updates to Existing Features
- Rubrics: page at admin and course level is redesigned. Rubric functionality in assignments is unchanged.
- Annoucements and Discussion redesign.
- Signatures can now be added to messages a user sends with Canvas Inbox
- Automatic Replies can configured and sent by instructors and TAs from Canvas inbox.
- Pages in Canvas can now be assigned to students.
GoReact Update
GoReact is a Canvas-integrated Learning Technologies tool for teaching performance-based skills online. It is a cloud-based video tool that integrates a variety of feedback options and grading of student video assignments. The existing GoReact installation has been updated to LTI 1.3 for enhanced data security. For more information, please visit the Learning Technologies GoReact page.
Kaltura Update
Kaltura is UAB's multimedia content management system. The Canvas integration of Kaltura has been upgraded to LTI 1.3 to provide enhanced data security and functionality. Existing Kaltura content in Canvas courses will not be affected. The important user-facing change is that the My Media links in the Canvas Account menu and Course Navigation have moved to Canvas Global Navigation. LinguaMeeting
Linguameeting is a world language practice and coaching service used by students learning a second language. In collaboration with the UAB Department of World Languages and Literatures, Learning Technologies has integrated LinguaMeeting into UAB Canvas. To learn more about LinguaMeeting, please visit our Learning Technologies LinguaMeeting page. World Languages instructors wanting LinguaMeeting in their Canvas course shell should submit an Ask OLT request to start the process.
