I looked at this program for over two years because I was nervous about applying. I had been out of school for 13 years and did not know what to expect. I had to learn how to study again, but in the end, I gained more knowledge in 18-months than I could have imagined. I would not change anything about this experience and I look forward to applying these skills to my current field of work.

I have 30 years of experience in the construction business and I started the program to be a better construction professional. I soon noticed that I was referencing information that I learned through the courses that I was taking in daily work meetings and while making presentations. The knowledge that I gained is a tribute to the CECM professors.

The graduate school experience taught me time management, organizational skills, how to juggle priorities and to invest in myself.

Thanks to this amazing program, I was just promoted to Civil Engineer I status by the county where I work. One of the best parts of the program are the friends that I have made from the very first group project. We communicate (network) multiple times per day, on weekends and even between terms.

While at UAB, I increased my construction knowledge and gained great confidence. I moved from the gas and oil industry to healthcare construction, and changed roles from a project engineer to a senior project manager in just two years.

The curriculum aligned perfectly with the challenges that I was facing at work. The skills learned through the program allowed me to better resolve those challenges, to be more competitive and to increase my work opportunities and responsibilities. I have literally used every skill set learned from my classes. It just confirms that I made the right choice when joining the CEM Program.

The CEM course work was valuable and immediately useful. During my time in the program I have obtained my general contractors license, I have received two promotions and my salary has almost doubled. I know that the knowledge and lessons gained in the program will make me a more confident and successful person for the rest of my life.

I am glad that I chose the UAB CEM program because of the great education, the people that I have met and for the opportunities that will open up for my family’s construction business.

The CEM program offers incredible an immeasurable value. It is not an accident that I am seeing such positive results and opportunities in my career.

I have currently received three promotions since starting the program and hope to inspire other girls to pursue their dream in engineering.

Joining the program and attending Boot Camp was kind of scary because I did not know how it would turnout, but I can say that it went very well. I am now overseeing multimillion dollar projects, training others and expanding my project management career.

This program helped me understand where the construction industry is going and the value of knowledge. The construction industry is forever changing and we as project managers have to stay ahead of the curve and current with the latest technology and software. I received all of this at UAB.

Since I started this program I have earned my PMP and LEED AP certifications. The courses offered in the CEM program makes acquiring these certifications such a breeze. This program has certainly expedited my construction career.

The CEM experience has helped me grow as an individual, but it has also influenced my career. About a year after I started this program I was offered two separate promotions, one with my current employer and one from a different company. I decided to stay in my current position but received large merit raise, which is unheard of in my construction field.
