All of the courses in the CECM program have real world relevance.

I learned from the CEM program that we manage processes, but we lead people. We also have a cycle that we go through; we explore, we experiment, and we evolve. The value of that exploration has allowed me to step outside of my comfort zone to experiment with more responsibility. I could not have evolved more while at UAB and I owe it all to this program.

The CEM degree is not just a piece of paper, it represents the knowledge that I have obtained that will change my life forever. I am confident that I now have the necessary skills that gives me a competitive edge to lead, communicate, visualize, and problem solve.

The CEM program is exemplar in terms of providing relevant construction industry knowledge and flexibility. Because of this program, my experience, and recently expanded duties, I have risen to a senior vice president on a leadership team with a large design-build firm.

The CEM Program made me work and the professors truly challenged me. Being able to apply what I learned in the classroom into actual practice gives me confidence.

Because of the classes in the CEM program, I have gained a greater confidence in the work that I do every day. Leaving the military and preparing to return to the civilian construction industry after almost eleven years, I knew that I would need to retool my construction knowledge to be competitive for employment. The CEM program offered the online flexibility that I needed, and it covered the current relevant course material. CEM was a great experience, especially with the opportunity to interact online with the vast differences in classmate ages, job positions, and general locations, as peers are scattered throughout the world. It was beneficial to work with others on group projects that had different educational backgrounds and knowledge in the construction industry.

Every class brought something positive to the table. Having hands-on access to the P6 Scheduling and Building Information Modeling software was just great. The program tested our perseverance and helped build professional character.

I selected UAB over other universities because the CEM program is prestigious, very well-known, and has a more affordable cost. Also, looking at the numbers, the CEM program was ranked much better, and the courses lined up neck-to-neck.
