The UAB Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers programs leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering as well as minors in electrical engineering or software engineering. The B.S. degree is a 128-semester-hour program that is accredited by ABET.

A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering can provide the foundation that a student will need for careers in any of the areas of electrical engineering, including advanced analog and digital electronics, microprocessor applications, biomedical instrumentation, digital computer systems, software systems, electric utility power systems, digital control, industrial electronics, and machinery control.
