The Fast-Track Master's plan is a special accelerated program that allows students to complete both a B.S. and M.S. degree in five years. The program is open to highly qualified undergraduate students pursuing a bachelor's degree. Students admitted to the program can take graduate courses during their senior year at undergraduate tuition rates and have these courses count toward the master's degree.
After completing their B.S.degree, Fast-Track Master's students will continue pursuing their M.S. degree. No GRE exam will be required to continue in the masters program.
Students should complete the following requirements before applying:
- be within 48 hours of graduation.
- have completed at least 15 hours of course work at UAB.
- have an overall GPA for all college courses of 3.0 or greater.
- have completed the following benchmark courses with at least a B:
- EE 300: Engineering Problem Solving II
- EE 314: Electrical Circuits
- EE 316: Electrical Networks
- EE 318: Signals and Systems
- EE 333: Engineering Programming Using Objects
- EE 337: Introduction to Microprocessors
