Orientation & Onboarding Discover UAB (for University employees) provides a comprehensive “first look” at UAB, including its core values, essential expectations, and important resources. New Hires will receive the date for their Discover UAB session from Talent Acquisition. Employees will also be able to speak with a Benefits Specialist at the optional Benefits session, which is held after the Discover UAB program.

Campus Engagement Survey As part of the Campus Engagement Survey, the Great Colleges to Work For® program compares survey results from participating institutions to recognize colleges that get top employee ratings regarding workplace practices and policies. 2023 was UAB’s first year to be recognized as one of the best colleges in the nation to work for, according to the Great Colleges to Work For® program.
People-Centered Performance Management Managers and employees use performance management to monitor and evaluate job performance, define goals, create action plans, and celebrate achievement. Performance management is a sequence of dialogues, coaching, and feedback fostering an atmosphere where employees can perform to the best of their ability, produce high-quality work, and grow their skills.
