The Birmingham/Atlanta Veteran’s Affairs (VA) Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center (GRECC) has as its core mission to improve the capability of the VA health care delivery system to provide services that are effective and appropriate in meeting the medical, psychological, and social needs of older veterans through research, education and innovative clinical services.

The Birmingham/Atlanta VA GRECC has a long-lasting partnership with ICAR. The GRECC and ICAR organize joint educational activities such as seminar series and workshops, and researchers from both Centers maintain active collaborations.
