A series of meetings Aug. 8 will feature Salesforce team members demonstrating various AI-driven technologies that can help the University in three main areas: student success, advancement and institutional operations.
University Relations and UAB IT are jointly hosting the sessions, which will be held in person and virtually.
Sessions include:
- Salesforce Student Success & AI: 8 to 9:30 a.m., Heritage Hall room 102, with virtual option on Zoom. This informational session will look at Salesforce tools that can help drive student success, including how Salesforce can benefit UAB in the areas of academic advising and student affairs. As a reminder, UAB currently uses Salesforce for recruiting and admissions for undergraduate, graduate and online. Breakfast will be provided. Register only if you plan to attend in person.
- Salesforce, Tableau and AI-powered Analytics, 10 a.m. Tableau and Salesforce will present a roadmap for overcoming UAB's current data challenges, creating a campus-wide unified student view, and developing a robust culture of self-service analytics. Join via Zoom.
- Salesforce and AI Advancement: 1 to 2:15 p.m., Cudworth Auditorium, with virtual option on Zoom. This informational session will look at Salesforce tools that can help optimize Advancement, including AI-driven technologies such as chatbots, Einstein, etc.
- Salesforce and AI Institutional Operations: 2:45 to 4 p.m., Cudworth Auditorium, with virtual option on Zoom. This informational session will look at Salesforce tools that can help optimize institutional operations. As a reminder, UAB uses Salesforce in University Relations for support tickets and other operational uses such as World Games ticket distribution and COVID-19 visitor dashboard.
The Salesforce meetings are part of a series of sessions on AI with leading technology companies, including Google and Microsoft. Future meetings will include Amazon on Aug. 24, with details to be announced later.
