The Civitan International Neuroimaging Lab serves as a core resource at UAB for neuroimaging experiments and analyses that examine brain anatomy and function in health and disease. In addition to brain research, the CINL facilities, equipment, and staff also support researchers using imaging in studying the spinal cord, eye, liver, skeletal muscle, heart, and kidney.
The CINL Mission
- Serve as a state-of-the-art research laboratory that fosters the advancement of functional magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy technique development for the neurosciences, for neuro-developmental and cognitive applications, as well as CNS diagnostics and glial biology research.
- Provide clinical functional neuroimaging capabilities to a wide array of researchers in translational neurosciences.
- Assist with planning experiments utilizing advanced magnetic resonance body and brain imaging and spectroscopy.
