Directions for Group System Access

Asynchronous Responses to Focus group/Nominal Group Technique Question


Broadly, the process consists of the following steps:
  1. Add your responses to the posted question.
  2. Return to the system to select and rank what you believe to be the 5 most significant responses, from your perspective
  • Accessing the System and entering your responses
    1. Enter your email address in the dialog box at ths link: http://www.cme.uab.edu/DiscussionGroup/Account/login.aspx
    2. You will see a question thread titled Juvenile Ideopathic Arthritis Medication Regimen. Click the pencil-and-paper icon to the left of the title to access the thread.
    3. You will see this screen:
    4.  enter response to asynchronous thread
    5. Enter a response into the "Response" area and up to 6 responses to the question and then select Add immediately below the "More info" box.
    6. You may edit/delete responses prior to submission by clicking the pencil-and-paper icon to the left of your responses.
    7. You can enter up to 6 responses.
    8. When you are finished, click the Go back to home button at the bottom of the page.
  • Selecting Responses
    1. Enter your email address and click Login 
    2. Click on the edit icon to the left of the Question Name: Clinical educator orientation, you’ll see this screen:
    3. Async select and rank responses 1
    4. Click Continue to access the full list of items submitted by you and fellow session participants and select the responses you deem most significant by checking the box to the left of your selected items:
    5. Async select and rank responses 3
    6. Once you have completed your selection the activated Submit button.
  • Ranking Responses
    1. Once you have hit Submit, you will be shown the items you selected along with a dropdown menu to the left of each item:
    2. Async rank 1 
    3. Click on th dropdown menu for each item and select the item that you believe is most significant as #1, second most significant as #2, etc.:
    4. Async rank 2
    5. Once you have completed your ranking for each item, hit Submit. 
    6. You can then log out of the system
