The HSOM I-4ward (Inflammation, Infection, Immunity, Immunotherapy) strategic working group is inviting applications for the Faculty Director of the Spatial Biology in Inflammation PRIME Program. We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic HSOM faculty member who has a successful track record of mentoring post-doctoral scholars and is excited about developing innovative new programs to recruit the next generation of post-doctoral fellows to UAB labs working on I-4ward relevant research questions. We envision that the fellows will be part of a cohort-based program that will provide the fellows with a built-in network of peers, with supplemented stipends and with professional advancement funds. In addition, the program will offer career mentoring and career development training that is specifically tailored for fellows interested in understanding the role of spatial biology in inflammatory-mediated diseases. The Faculty Director of Spatial Biology Prime will interface with the leaders of other HSOM Prime programs to establish UAB as a true national and international destination for post-doctoral fellows. The Spatial Biology Prime Faculty Director will be provided with administrative support and compensation for effort to develop, launch and manage the program. If you would like to see the post-doctoral community grow at UAB and want to be part of our “Looking I-4ward” working group, please submit your biosketch and a one-page personal statement describing your background and interest in post-doctoral fellow mentoring as well as your vision for enhancing post-doctoral recruitment and training at UAB. Applications should be submitted as a single PDF by Tuesday January 7th at 5PM to Yu-Ting Lin (ylin3@uab.edu).
If you would like to learn more about this exciting opportunity, please email I-4ward task force members Drs. Jennifer Pollock (jenniferpollock@uabmc.edu) and Frances Lund (flund@uab.edu).
