Our city: Birmingham, Alabama

At a population of over 1 million, Birmingham, Alabama, has all of the amenities of a big city while still maintaining the warmth and hospitality of a Southern town. In recent years, our city has undergone its own cultural renaissance, with new restaurants, breweries, music venues, and theatres popping up on every corner. In 2021, Travel and Leisure named Birmingham the #5 place to visit.  

We have everything from farmers markets and art festivals to urban parks and performances by our very own St. Paul and the Broken Bones and the Alabama Shakes. Birmingham is a city that has something for everyone, and it is a vibrant backdrop for the extraordinary residency training we experience.
