COVID 19 Diaries: A Collection of Stories from International Medical Students is a volume that archives, for future generations of medical and social researchers, eye-witness accounts from young doctors who were on the frontlines during this worldwide crisis that has forever changed the face of higher education. These personal narratives lay bare the mentality of some of our UAB medical students and doctors around the world as they juggle professional and personal lives. They are the voices of fear, anger, and guilt, but also of endurance, resilience, and human solidarity in front of adversity. Our hope is that the insight of these testimonies can serve as an enlightening torch to explore new paths that can cut across the disciplinary boundaries between medicine and social justice on the one hand and medicine and environmental justice on the other hand.
