Training Program in Lung Biology & Translational Medicine

The UAB Training Program in Lung Biology and Translational Medicine supports 2-3 years of structured and rigorous research training for M.D. or Ph.D. postdoctoral fellows. Strong emphasis is placed on the recruitment and retention of underrepresented minorities. The program provides multidisciplinary training in a stimulating and collaborative environment that nurtures the development of highly competent and innovative biomedical research scientists. The training is fostered by 36 faculty mentors who hold primary appointments in 9 UAB Departments.

Pulmonary Grand Rounds

This conference series is held every Thursday at 12 PM. UAB Faculty and visiting professors from institutions across the world present on topics of clinical relevance and cutting edge research. Attendance for this conference is mandatory for Pulmonary Fellows and Faculty. Third-year Fellows, especially those in the Physician Scientist Track, are expected to present their research results in a one-hour session towards the second half of their third year. This conference is CME accredited.
