The MHERC creates successful programs to eliminate health disparities. But, we don't do it alone. We join with partners from various sectors (healthcare, community organizations, faith based, government, among others) to build community capacity, as well as provide the skills and knowledge needed to create sustainable change.

Our Community Engagement Team has cultivated and maintained partnerships and collaborations with a group of nearly 200 community organizations, governments, businesses, schools, and other entities throughout Alabama and our region. These trusting, mutually beneficial relationships are built on the fact that the MHERC is in the community, attending neighborhood meetings, collaborating with organizations, meeting with leaders, and working alongside residents all over the state of Alabama.

The programs our Center and our vast network of partners support, are sustainable not because we invested money, but because we invested in people. They have made a change they will carry on and are grateful to our partners in this journey toward better health for all.
