A portrait by artist Jay Wesley Jacobs of James Somerville McLester, M.D., LLD, was unveiled Jan. 18 in the main lobby of the UAB Community Health Services Building, the site where McLester’s primary care-focused practice formerly stood.
The Best Medicine Show, an annual philanthropic event highlighting UAB SOM students’ creative sides, is slated for Friday, Feb. 23. Proceeds from the event benefit Equal Access Birmingham, a student-run program that operates a free primary care clinic for the underserved.
