The School of Medicine has created school-specific guidelines for faculty member who wish to take External Activity Leave or Professional Leave. The policy goes into full effect October 1.

Adam McClintock has been named director of the UAB Office of the Institutional Review Board for Human Use (IRB) following a national search. McClintock recently served as the human research protections manager for OhioHealth Research & Innovation Institute, and as the operations manager in the Office of Responsible Research Practices at The Ohio State University.
Ryan Mantooth, M.D., resident in the Department of Emergency Medicine, recently received a perfect score on the In-Training Examination taken by residents annually across all specialties.
