The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is pleased to welcome Kevin A. Williams, M.D., as an assistant professor of pediatric orthopaedic surgery. His clinical interest is general pediatric orthopaedic surgery with an emphasis in pediatric sports medicine.
Dr. Williams received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He completed his residency at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC, where he researched the involvement of vitamin D in orthopedics, specifically in pediatric and trauma populations. He also participated in trauma and foot and ankle research during residency.
Before joining the department and Children’s of Alabama in 2020, Williams completed his fellowship in pediatric orthopaedic surgery at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. There, he learned from world-renowned pediatric sports medicine surgeons and further researched pediatric trauma and sports medicine.
