The Department of Orthoapedic Surgery is pleased to welcome Swapnil Singh, M.D., to the Foot and Ankle Fellowship program in the 2022-2023 cohort.
Singh will succeed graduating fellow Chad Willis, M.D. Associate Professor, Foot and Ankle Fellowship Director and Director of Clinical Research Ashish Shah, M.D. will lead Singh’s fellowship.
After finishing his residency in orthopaedic surgery from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, Singh completed his fellowship in orthopedic oncology at Montefiore Medical Center and a sports medicine fellowship at National University Hospital in Singapore.
Singh is currently completing an advanced fellowship training in orthopaedic trauma at UAB, that focused on complex pelvis and acetabular surgeries. His surgical area of interest includes management of complex pelvis and acetabular fracture management, limb salvage surgeries in bone and soft tissue tumors, complex joint reconstruction, and revision arthroplasty.
The comprehensive Foot and Ankle Fellowship program provides training in all aspects of foot and ankle care, ranging from detailed conservative management to reconstructive surgery in adults. Problems related to the great and lesser toes, midfoot, hindfoot, and the ankle are treated routinely.
