Assistant Professor and Chief of Sports Medicine Amit Momaya, M.D., has been selected as the Alabama representative on the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AAOSM) Council of Delegates.
Momaya was chosen by other orthopaedic physicians across the state of Alabama to serve as the Alabama representative. He will begin his three-year term on the council this July and will be eligible to serve another three-year term after his first has ended.
Momaya’s term will officially begin at the AOSSM-Arthroscopy Association of North America Combined 2021 Annual Meeting on Jul. 7-11, 2021 in Nashville, Tennessee.
Delegates are tasked with grassroots outreach efforts, communicating with members at a local level and providing a forum for the exchange of information. Delegates support the mission of the AAOSM, which is to be the premier global, sports medicine organization representing the interests of orthopaedic surgeons and other professionals who provide comprehensive health services for the care of athletes and active people of all ages and abilities.
