We are excited to announce the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery’s incoming residents! Six exceptional medical students from throughout the country recently matched with our department for their upcoming residencies.
"We are thrilled to welcome another outstanding class of residents to UAB's Department of Orthopaedic Surgery," said Michael D. Johnson, M.D., associate professor and program director of the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program. "I am grateful to our faculty and residents for cultivating an outstanding learning environment for our trainees. We are excited to be a part of their development into skilled orthopaedic surgeons."
Our program encompasses the entire spectrum of clinical orthopaedic problems with residency training conducted across three clinical campuses. Our residents are trained by renowned faculty and have access to cutting-edge, quality research throughout the program. Additionally, our trainees have extensive hands-on training in various patient cases-from pediatric trauma to professional athletes-fully preparing them to be leading orthopaedic surgeons and match into prominent fellowships throughout the county.
