UAB Department of Orthopaedic Surgery represents at the AAHS/ASPN annual meeting

UAB Department of Orthopaedic Surgery faculty led one instructional course, participated as lecturers in a second instructional course, and showcased six poster presentations at the 2020 American Association for Hand Surgery (AAHS) and American Society for Peripheral Nerve (ASPN) annual meeting.

Soon-to-be UAB Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Assistant Professor- Erin Ransom, M.D., as well as UAB Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Associate Professor Richard Meyer, M.D., organized and led one instructional course and were invited to participate in a second course as lecturers.

The first course was titled “Thoracic Outlet Syndrome: You Have Missed This Diagnosis More Than Once,” and taught alongside the Hospital for Special Surgery’s Alexandra MacKenzie, OTR/L, CHT. The second course was titled, “Neurogenic Thoracic Outlet Syndrome: Comprehensive Treatment,” and Ransom and Meyer were invited to participate by Robert Hagan, M.D., and lectured alongside Giorgio Pietramaggori, M.D.
