Department of Orthopaedic Surgery PGY-3 resident Kevin Wall, M.D., MPH, earned the Southern Orthopaedic Association (SOA) and Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF) Resident Award.
Wall won the award for his research “Liposomal Bupivacaine Provides Better Comfort than Interscalene Catheter following Arthroscopic Shoulder Surgery.”
This award will fund Wall’s meeting expenses which includes registration and lodging at the 39th Annual SOA meetingon July 20-23 in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. Wall will also be presenting his research at the meeting. Wall joins a select group of residents around the nation who have received this prestigious resident award.
I am honored to receive this award for my research project, and I am grateful to my mentors across the department,” said Wall. “I look forward to attending the 2022 SOA Conference and representing UAB Orthopaedics on a national platform.”
According to SOA, the organization develops and fosters scientific medicine in the specialty of orthopaedic surgery. The association operates exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes.
