Faculty, staff and trainees from the Department of Pathology gathered on October 6 at Oak Mountain State Park for a Family Fall Festival. Colleagues, alongside their families, enjoyed a day filled with community. The event was hosted by the department's clinical training programs.
Attendees enjoyed a picnic together and a variety of activities, including fishing, miniature pumpkin paining and games.
“The weather was perfect for a fall picnic," said Monica Henderson, Program Manager, Training Programs. "It was just warm enough to enjoy throwing footballs, pitching baseballs and running around in the grassy area. The lake was cool enough to dip your feet in and was perfect for fishing (although the fish didn’t want to bite that day). Everyone enjoyed themselves! It was fun to meet family members and get to know each other outside of the clinical environment. Who knew we had so many artists here! A few of the pumpkins we painted are on display in the Chair’s office.”
It was a wonderful afternoon of fellowship across trainees, faculty and staff along with their families," said Brandi McCleskey, M.D., Vice Chair for Education and Residency Program Director. "Whether you painted pumpkins, played games, fished, or just ate - the weather was perfect and the company was even better. These types of events are critical to our success as a training program and a Department. We are so thankful that Dr. Magi-Galluzzi and the Department continue to support these efforts and hope that everyone can come out for the next one in the spring!
