Our pediatric fellowship programs are designed to provide outstanding training to prepare our fellows to excel as subspecialty clinicians, researchers, and teachers within the field of pediatrics. The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alabama has graduated greater than 429 fellows since 1990. Approximately 80% of these fellows remain in academic medicine, including 35% who choose to stay as faculty at the University of Alabama.

The Department of Pediatrics benefits from a strong and dedicated relationship with Children's of Alabama. The only free-standing pediatric hospital in the state of Alabama, Children's Hospital is a leader in pediatric healthcare throughout the Southeast. A 12-story, 400-bed hospital opened in 2012. This new facility defines state-of-the-art pediatric medical care for the country, and allows for continued expansion of our clinical and research programs.
