The UAB Department of Pediatrics participated in the 2025 Heersink School of Medicine Cultural Connections Food Fair, highlighting a diverse array of delicious dishes representing various cultures.

The table, “Passport to Pediatric Palates” impressed the judges with both the quality of food and the thoughtfulness behind each dish, earning an impressive 2nd place finish. The event highlighted the department's commitment to community engagement and cultural appreciation, bringing together staff, faculty, and families to celebrate food, diversity, and togetherness. Special thanks to Drs. “Chef” Amr Hammouda, Madhura Hallman, Rachel Kassel, Chrystal Rutledge, and the DOP Staff Wellness and Recognition Council for all of their culinary contribution, time, and hard work.
